over 1500 watts at 2 ohms

i am looking for an amp that to power 3 12w6v2's. They are dual 4, so I came up with a 2.66 ohm or .66 ohm load. I wanna give them around 5-600 watts each.

I was originally thinking of putting them on a mtx 1501d, but then I heard it wont power them enough. What amp do you recommend that puts out between 1500-2000 watts at 2 ohms??

    Thanks

The older Rockford Fosgate 1501bd will give you about 1700w @ 2ohm.

How much are you lookin' to spend?

Re: over 1500 watts at 2 ohms

I am looking to spend around 400, hopefully less. What about the Tsunami db1800t Class T Digital. 1800 X 1 at 2ohms .5 THD. Anyone got any expierence with the amp?

I also was looking at the RF 1501bd. I will also need to get a matching 4 channel. You think the rockford will be able to push it more than the Tsunami or the MTX 1501d?

Unlikely you'd be able to tell a difference between them.

I feel it should be enough power for them, it won't be maxing them out, but there is no need to

Re: over 1500 watts at 2 ohms

In a drag and drop situation, the difference between 1000 watts and 2000 watts is 3db. The only real difference between those three amps is maybe 2db. They all seem like pretty rock solid amps, can´t go wrong with any of them.

I recently bought the last of ScottieJ´s modded 1501ds, I look forward to strapping it to my 187s. (2.5x rated power apiece!!)
