three subs on a 2-channel amp

Can you run three subs on a two-channel amp? Is this possible and will it sound right?

If you had 3 dual 6ohm speakers you could achive a 4 ohm load that would be safe for any amp and sound fine. If you had 3 4 ohm speakers than you would get either a 1 ohm load or a 12 ohm load. A 1 ohm mono load will ruin most amps. Dual voice coil speakers provide more options than single voice coil.
