high power amp for sub "need help"

I have a eclipse titanium pro sub and right now its running off 2 rockford fosgate 1001bd amps. so thats giving me a total of 2200+ watts rms. the sub is 3000RMS.
Im heavily considering getting new amps and looking to get 2 1500 watt amps(1500x1 @2ohms) so i can get 3000+ watts rms going. The thing is I dont no what to get. Fosgate amps are all ive ever owned so my choice would be 2 fosgate 1501bd's, which would do it. But i want to no is there any thing else better then this or any suggestions any one can give me on amps to get. Thanks

Re: high power amp for sub "need help"

hows your electrical system?? have you upgraded your alternator, battery, and wires? if not, i would prob recommend you do that 1st and then possible get the viper 2500 or Orion 2500d.. if your eletrical system isnt up to par and you do get a 3000rms amp, your not going to be runiing 3000rms anyways...

Re: high power amp for sub "need help"

everything at this point is stock. I have all good wiring 2gauge, high quality rca's (2) 1 farad caps, stuff like that but no alt or batt. Do i really need to get both alt and batt. or will just the one or the other do. And in that case with my current electrical system im probably not getting the 2200+ watts i thought i was getting huh.

Re: high power amp for sub "need help"

caps are just takeing up space. and for wiring he was takeing about the big 3. you havent dont that yet but you will have to if you wanna come close to 3000 watts and yea you will have to get a bat an alt for that. so your gonna be spending about 400$ on upgradeing your electrical system before you buy an amp. and an amp will be another 400+$ so start saveing.

if you can't afford the Orion, save up a little, hook up the amp, turn on the system, turn up the volume and run for your life and pray that your ears still work

Re: high power amp for sub "need help"

IMO I don't think there is going to be much of a noticeable difference.

If you were talking about going from 1000 watts to 3000 watts, I think it be more noticeable.

You seem to like the rockfords, why not look into the new 30001t (cant remember the exact model) but its a 3000 watt sub amp from them.

Re: high power amp for sub "need help"

yeah i considered getting one of thoes. the fosgate T30001bd, but its 3000 W x 1 @ 1 Ohms RMS and i dont think my sub can be wired down to 1 ohm. its a quad coil sub and they are all 1 ohm. so i hear you can only wire it at 2 and 4 ohms. so i have (2) 1000watts 2ohm amps (1 for each side) for a total of 4 ohms. unless theres other wiring possabilities.
