if it's a quad 1 ohm sub, just wire it series/parallel for a single 1 ohm mono load

LOL well the guys at eclipse told me that thats mathematicaly impossible. im not saying i dont believe you cuz i do and others have told me this as well but its all confusing to me. here's what i e-mailed them and they replied with:
    ME:
Hello, I am considering getting a new amp for this
sub. (eclipse SW9152Pro) But I was wondering is there
anyway to wire this sub at 1 ohm? The amp i want to
get puts out 3000watts @1 ohm and would be a perfect
match for this sub I would think, that is only if i
can wire it at 1 ohm.
How many Ohms can you wire this sub to? Right now its
wired at 4 ohms using (2)1000watt, 2 ohm amps sync'd.

    REPLY:
    Sorry, that is mathematically impossible.
The best thing would be to series two coils to each side and get a 2ohm
load per side. Thank you for taking the time to write to Eclipse and we hope you
consider us for any of your future product needs.

They are right, if you want two loads...

Do what they said, then parallel what you got, the two 2 ohm loads together, and you'll have a single 1 ohm load. No problem.
