It isn't a "true" tube amp. It only has the tubes on the input side of things, the output it still solid state.

But, US Amps makes great amps either way.

yeah true. I have heard one bad thing about real true tube amps. Is that u have to wait for them to warm up.

That takes like 5-10 seconds. A minute would be the absolute maximum.

i would imagine that a tube amp (concerning my friends guitar amp) gets very warm, and they are very largre (the tubes are big) ... and the tubes are glass... so they might have 'fragility' issues. best not to hook a tube amp to a competition setup and have it vibrate apart =P

Tube amps are fine for a car. Not that big (relatively speaking), and like everything else, as long as you don't drop it you will be fine.

US Amps, Butler Audio, Milbert, Tru Tech, PPI, and a bunch more all have car audio tube amps. Only the Milbert, and an up and coming Tru AT (all tube) amps are "true" tube amps, the others are solid state outputs with tubes on the inputs.

over a SS? not much...but, some people (myself included) say they sound better, although some will argue that's due to the output impedance and the like.

they're also plain cool...just look at one under load, very cool watching the filaments glow in the dark

There is much less of an advantage in "tube" amps like the US Amps and Butler Audio amps as compared to true tube amps that have tubes on the outputs...........but basically, the tubes add distortion to harmonics that are pleasing to the ear, that some claim gives the music a "warmth"
