Re: Sony Xplod 2200-GTX....1200 watt amp

I have the 4060 gtx, which is from the same product line as that one. Workin perfect for me, and for the price that those things go on ebay, very good bang for buck factor.

Whats the matter dude, that Power Acoustik 960 not working for u anymore? U lookin to "upgrade" to something better to get more than "120 dbs". Seriously though, answer this, are you honestly looking to get this amp, or are you just bullshitting, b/c the forum has had enough of that.

    Sony GTX-4600 amp
    (2) SonicFX D15s in a 7 cube box, tuned to 35hz
    Hifonics Brutus 1500

One of my subs is inverted; it adds 10 DBs!

I dont know what to think. Is "thismightbepat" - A) trolling, B) offering advice, or C) being a ********? The two phrases you put up are like a night and day compared to each other.

Re: Sony Xplod 2200-GTX....1200 watt amp

I dont see how you can think this is trolling, I am offering real advice b/c if you'd look at my sig, I do own and use an amp that is very similar to the one he's asking about. I'm not being a ********, I'm simply letting him know that if he's just posting crap as usual, he needs to quit b/c it will get him in trouble. I'm being sarcastic about the 120dbs and the power acoustik amp b/c that was the topic of his "brand new" equipment that he got read on a meter yesterday, which I'm sure didn't really happen. I'd tell you to check out the thread but its been deleted.

Just check out his other posts biabia, I'm actually giving him the benefit of the doubt by posting my advice.

Re: Sony Xplod 2200-GTX....1200 watt amp

how come the amp gets hot after 15 minutes? and YES! i'm seriously thinking of getting this amp, the amp is the perfect match for my new Audiobahn Performer Series 12'' sub, the sub handles 500 rms, the amp puts out 500 rms at 4 ohms bridged. i plan on running the amp at 500 rms bridged at 4 ohms so the amp doesn't strain so much.

Re: Sony Xplod 2200-GTX....1200 watt amp

I have a Sony Xplod XM-475GSX amp that puts out 75x4. I've never had any problem with it but I've always run it at 4-ohm. I bought it dirt cheap refurbished and the **** thing won't die, I kinda wish it would and force me to upgrade.

I have no complaints other than the adjustments on the amp are in the stupidest, hardest place to get to.

Re: Sony Xplod 2200-GTX....1200 watt amp

yes, the controls for my xplod amp are a real ***** to get to. If i ever want to tweak them, i have to unscrew my amp off the back wall of my truck. Oh and also, no RCA output jacks, so no daisychaining off of it :-/

Re: Sony Xplod 2200-GTX....1200 watt amp

I use mine for my highs. but I'm willing to bet anything that that other amp will produce a sound that sounds very similar to bass.....X amount of watts being sent to a driver to produce bass. . . .Remember, bass is bass, your amp will not make much of a difference in how the sound is reproduced, or not enough to tell anyway.

Sony amps do get hot faster than others, but of course they dont just shutdown alot. How would they sell any if they were known to shutdown very quickly? They aren't the best on the market, but if you're looking for a good cheap way to get power, sony amps are what you want. That, or Profile.
