    Modifying amplifiers for higher output

I have a Hifonics BX1000D and am looking into moding it. I dont care about the warranty or anything because ive already had the thing apart down to the board so many times its pathetic. But back to the point....ive heard that the controller chip in the ouput section which controls the output fets is regulated and if you can find the right circuit to mod then you can, in a word raise the limitation and let the amp produce more power but I just cant seem to find the right circuit. If anyone has any information that might could help me then PM me with your interest and any help you might have.

hrm...careful with that...you push the MOSFETs too far, your nice amp becomes a nice and dirty noise generator. Clipping = teh bad news.

    Go slowly...proceed with caution

Be careful modding the amp yourself. You need to be sure that EVERYTHING in the amp is capable of handling the higher power.

Personally, if you want more power, I think it would be wiser to just sell the 1000D and buy a higher power amp.

Also, you can check with places like www.ciaengineering.com and see how much it would cost or if they would be willing to give you any advice.
