Hifonics Amps Under rated/

I was reading a buying guide today while at a local shop, it listed my brutus 1000d at 350watts at its lowest stable ohm(1ohm).... now that doesn't sound even remotely right.

Is the mag. wrong?

I can't remember what magazine it was, will have to look next time I run up there. But I was just wondering you guys input/experience.

The Brutus's do what they say.

500 does 500rms @ 1ohm
1000 does 1000rms @ 1ohm
1500 does 1500rms @ 1ohm

The thing was it said "power at lowest stable ohm", I don't know why they would say 4ohm was the lowest stable ohm though

Because there dopers. The mag probably meant 350 @ 4ohm because it is. And 500 @ 2ohm. And 1000 @ 1ohm.

Its a pretty solid amp for the money.

It was prolly Car Audio's April Edition or an ad in Mobile Electronics

I think you are quoting the 1500S

The Brutus's do what they say.

500 does 500rms @ 1ohm
1000 does 1000rms @ 1ohm
1500 does 1500rms @ 1ohm

yup....sounds like you were looking at the CA&E 2004 Directory issue. Probably either a typo, or you were looking at the wrong column.

That's the one... it was a big guide with charts of like everything and their specs.
