Best amp for new system..

Ok, i just graduated from high school.. and since i got a full ride to college (34 on ACT.. whew!) i don't have to pay for college. I got a lot.. a lot.. a lot of money from graduation presents and i'm making 9.50 an hour now (plus commision) selling computer parts (new ATI card.. will.. kick.. ***..) I need to save for a computer.. but since I'm keeping the saxophone i have now (music perf. major..) i have money to spend on system.

New setup (hopefully):
Clarion VRX935VD (can't remember exact number, don't want to look it up)
Clarion 1/2 DIN EQ
Components of some kind
4-channel amp of some kind
2 amps for subs
Massive DMX 12's.. two, in a really big box (gonna experiment with fiberglassing..)
New battery
200 amp alternator

My question is, which components should i go with, which 4-channel should i go with, which sub amps should I go with, and what battery/alternator should I go with? I was gonna go audiobahn for a couple of them.. but i've heard some bad things about them from some people on these boards, and I'm assuming most of you know more than I do, so i was wondering what you people thought. Price isn't much of a problem right now...

i used to be able to tell people my sax was worth more than anything else i owned.. but since i got the new truck and soon the new system.. that will be no more.. (sax is 3600)

want to? or can? consider money not being an option.. but keep it under 6 grand for the entire system (like i said.. i got a lot of money)...

Um... you got a 34 on the ACT and you are going to major in Music Performance? Are you daft? Get a real degree. You got the brains. Minor in music. Major in something real. i respect and envy musicians, but even with a degree, I know very few that can use their degree in music to pay the bills. Major in Applied Physics (acoustics). That degree can have the potential to pay the bills and keep you close to the music that you obviously love.

military band.. i'm majoring in music so i can learn more, the degree i could really care less about.. and i am minoring in music tech, although i will look into applied physics classes

and i know quite a few just here in omaha that pay their bills with music, and i've known a couple military musicians who love it and have discussed it many times with me (trust me, i wouldn't do it if i knew i wasn't good enough.. and if, by some chance, it falls out with me or i decide i'm not good enough, i can switch to something else.. it's only my freshman year next year)

also.. i really didn't come here to get my life choices/college major bashed on..

okay.. sorry for kind of spouting off on the last post. understand that i take my music very seriously, and to me there is no other option in my life right now. however, if applied physics would be the best class to take for audio/box applications, than i sure as hell will take it. are there any other classes that anyone would recommend for audio applications? thanks.. and thanks for the concern helotaxi (no sarcasm intended).

Man, you are a ***! This is a car audio forum. You are supposed to post questions or comments about car audio related topics. No one here cares about your life story, or how you beat it to your 34 on the ACT every night. Why dont you just play your sax while your driving and then you wont have to worry about car speakers, or maybe you could do the smart thing and save your money. That's cool. I admire musicians. I am a bit jealous because all I ever learned to play was the radio (but I am good at it ). I just think that you would be limiting your options if you focused only on your music. By all means stick with your music. I would never advocate anyone walking away from what they love, but limiting your area of focus to just music is a bit short-sighted. I would suggest looking into a technical field that you can apply to your music and the production thereof. You love of music will give you the drive and focus you need to keep you serious about your studies. It's much easier to learn something hard when it relates to something you are passionate about.

I'm in the military. Do me a huge favor and don't join the military to be in the band. I don't have a lot of respect for people whose speciality code is band.

You could just do some research... Buying a setup isnt a one day process and isnt cheap to get the best there is... I paid $2k to have the majority of my things done. and I got a decent setup. if you are looking at amps... Buy a class d that will work in future applications. Like a 1500 watt to a 2000 watt amp...I had a 2000 watt power acoustik.. ( yeah i know people dont like them) and i beat the **** outta that thing with Orion HCCA's and Audiobahns and i ran that thing hot enough to cook a egg on it.. And the speakers went before the amp.. hell the amp lasted longer then the eclipse headunit...I loved that amp ..... WHY!? WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
