Picked up a old School PPI 2150M Amp

Yea, a friend was moving and selling crap he did not feel like moving...

I figured, I like having spare Car Audio crap laying around to tinker with, so why not...

Its an an school old Prescision Power 2150M amp laying around...
I know its atleast 150x2@4ohm RMS and Bridgable...

    Whats something like this worth???

I'm just curious how good of a deal I got...

The only thing that seems to be wrong is its missing the Molex connecter for the speaker leads, not a big deal as I can make a new one...

Not sure what I want to do with it... If it'll push a sub decent, I might, put a single 10 or 12" in my other truck....

Re: Picked up a old School PPI 2150M Amp

Well, for comparison, i just picked up a 2100 off of ebay for 91.00 before shipping, which I thought was a pretty good price. You can buy the molex connectors if you look around. Of course, if you want to sell the amp, I could always make use of it
Specs I had with the 2100 are as follows, expect yours to be similar, adjust power ratings where applicable:
    2x 100 Watts @ 4 Ohm or 2X 200 Watts @ 2 Ohm or You can bridge it up and pound a whoping 1x 400 Watts at 4 Ohm.

So I would guess, 2x150@4ohm, 2x300@2ohm, and somewhere around 500-600w at 4ohm bridged mono for your amp.
Nice amps, well made, pleasing design, I think its a good one to have.

You've got yourself a pretty solid amp. It will do a easy 600wrms into a 4ohm mono load. I can't really remember if it would do 2ohm mono though... It was replaced with the A600 then later with the A600.2
I'd diff keep it and run a 12 or two with it.

Re: Picked up a old School PPI 2150M Amp

I had a PPI Power Class 2150 that I used to push 6 JL Audio 10W0s. It was a funny load on the AMP... 3 subs chained then those two sets wired into the amp. If I remember it was a 3-ohm load, but this was done when I was competing and was done by a shop. The amp did fry once, but was promptly replaced at no charge. My head unit fried at the same time, not sure which one blew which....

Mine was a power monster and I went threw 2 stock alternators before I added a additional battery.

Later it was installed on 3 JL 10W6s and worked wonderfully. No additional power was needed this time but this was a listening system and not a SPL system.
