Naught for nothing, but if your amp is on fire you don't know everything, and if you don't really know what you're looking for, you should probably avoid "deals" on electronics to avoid problems like this. There's 100 junk brands out there. As people catch on to poor quality and untruthful claims these companies simply slap a different brand name on things, change the heatsink and fool a new round of suckers who believe that they're going to get something for nothing.

Best to verify that the gound is firmly connected to the amp, the terminals are well secured, and you have selected a good spot on the frame of the vehicle and sanded it down shiny to connect the other end. If you have verified your ground is good there's a problem with your amp.
It's the first time it's done this, i positioned the ground wire a different way this time (when the rubber melted) I'm sure that was the reason, I've changed the position up again and I'm sure it's not going to happen again.. Thank you

Who said it can do rated? I didn't...

When an amp has lies for ratings, you can't tune it properly. When a person has crap equipment and isn't properly educated on the subject of sound systems, do you think they will be able to audibly tell when to back off the volume knob? Gimme a break......

I bet you get a kick out of trying to put people down over the internet but deep down inside you live a sad lonely life.
i wasn't even trying to put you down. I initially said you were uneducated in car audio equipment and installation, you called me a dick. So I responded accordingly.

    All day I'm clippin'
    voltage be dippin'
    I don't give a damn,
    cause my trunk always hittin'!

creating a proper sound wave. Step one, turn it up until clipping. Step two, done.

The point being your whole "use a dmm to set gains by measuring voltage" theory falls apart here. If someone has good equipment and has half functioning ears and brain they can easily tell when the sound distorts, and if they soft-clip a bit with decent quality gear that's installed correctly it is highly unlikely that they will cause fires. Unfortunately your method to try to retard-proof the gains still won't work for retards that can't correctly connect a ground wire or believe the number printed on the side of their swap meet amp.

Before you continue, I suggest to fuse all your positive lines before you end up with a car bonfire. It's obvious you are shorting out your main power lines, it might power up but I know your amp is now bar-B-qued.

If someone has good equipment and has half functioning ears and brain they can easily tell when the sound distorts,
what if they have a bandpass box.
