Do they really build the amps?

Do companies like rockford, kicker , orion, etc really build there amps or do they just have somebody else build them like some ofthem do there subs?

Most of the big boys build their own amps in house. The deal with subs is that there is really only a hand full of manufactures that build speakers.
Companies like TC Sounds, Eminence, Pioneer( who happens to be one of the largest speaker manufactures in the world), and a few others that seem to slip my mind at the moment are all considered OEM( original equipment manufactures) that have already setup factcilites to build speakers. It is far cheaper for a company to design and engineer their own drivers and have one of these OEM's build and test the prototypes to the designers spec's and then once they a satisfied with the results build the complete line. It's far cheaper and better this way and it keeps cost's down for the consumer....
Sometimes you can tell who is using the same OEM's by looking at how many companies subs have the same looking basket........
