Re: Is the Kenwood KAC-6104D good? Opinions
The 04 models tested quite a bit less than rated power at 2 ohms -- at least the 8104 did, so I would expect similar results from the 6104.
It should work ok though - especially if the sub is a dual 4 (that can be wired for 2), but more power would get a little more output from the sub.
If the sub's a dual 2 it would have to be wired for 4, further reducing the amp's power.

It's a dual 4 ohm

It'll work okay.
You'd get 2-3 more db using an amp capable of something closer to 500w.

All I'm worried about really is getting some decent bass. Will this amp make it loud or not loud at all?

in the right box it should perform fairly well.
The difference btw 300 an 500 would only be a couple db.

Re: Is the Kenwood KAC-6104D good? Opinions
that's a weak amp.
and 300wrms is nothing. I'm running two 15's on 300wrms and the trunk bangs, but it ain't that impressive. (subs and enclosure may be at fault too).
To the guy who said the difference between 300 and 500 watts is "only a couple db", at that low wattage, a "couple db" can be percieved as a HUGE increase.
I know with my kenwood 8105d, if I play a bit beyond tuning, possibly delivering 350-400wrms it get's STUPID in the trunk. I mean STUPID. Granted, the signal is dirty, but the SPL increase is undeniable.
