Re: Thoughts on precision power ppi p900.4

I had a good experience with this amplifier. No issues whatsoever. It's small and light for its power output. It never got hot even during the summer. It was driving a subwoofer with a couple of bridged channels and it could hit some nice lows. The power terminal is large enough to accept 4awg wire, which is nice. (my previous 4-channel amps for some reasons had issues with this). The crossovers are versatile enough to bi-amp a set of component speakers if you don't need a BP/HP setting above 4KHz@12dB. Although, what I really liked is the ability to turn off crossovers, as I normally prefer to set that on the head unit.

Do all the precision power amps have the so called noise issue or only the p900.4?

I'm particularly interested in the bk1800.1D

There is no noise issue with these amps. It's an installation error or faulty equipment connected to the amp that would contribute to noise.

The "noise" issue mentioned above was with regards to PPP P1000.1, not P900.4. The way it's described, that's actually the sound of alternator whine, a very common issue in car environment, and a tell tale sign that something isn't grounded well. This means you need to honest to god ground cables running to everything: battery to chassis, engine to chassis, chassis to amplifiers, and chassis to head unit. In my case, I had a real flimsy chassis to battery connection, and chassis on head unit. Still working on this..

It's not really an issue with the amps as they do fine. From my experience, it is simply that you need a stronger ground than other amps I had. How do I know? I swapped out amps and it made noise, found a better ground and it stopped

It looks nice for sure. I grabbed the BK amps a few months ago and have been very happy with them.

Re: Thoughts on precision power ppi p900.4

PPI BK seem like nice amplifiers too. PPI is my favorite budget amplifier brand. And their PC series are supposed to be _very_ good, and not just for the price, but without breaking bank. I would recommend to simply pick the one that simply meets budget, installation, and power requirements.

MMATS being compared to these? Ehhhh I wouldn't go that far with it... Id put them up against MBQ or some of the other budget lines
