Yes, the amp will work with your setup. The PDX's are nice amps and $120 shipped doesn't seem like a bad price either (assuming it's in decent condition and has the speaker plug).

    My simple but pleasing setup

Hey that sounds pretty good but can you provide any pics?

Also would the Kenwood Kac-8105D or the MB Quart REF1.800 (REF 1.800) be any better or should I stick with the pdx 600.1?

In a sense yes, in a sense no. That amp is only 2 ohm stable, and you can only wire your subs at either one or four ohms. So you'd have to wire at four ohms and you'd be getting 300w out of it. Personally if recommend something different in your case.

I'd stay away from that brand. If your budget is small you could get a Hifonics BRZ1200 or Audiopipe APSM1300 and run them at 1 ohm with the gain turned down.

    How about this

    AUDIOPIPE AP15001D
    Class D Mono Amplifier
    Power Handling:

    600 x 1 RMS @ 4 Ohm
    950 x 1 RMS @ 2 Ohm
    1500 x 1 RMS @ 1 Ohm

    1 Ohm load stable
Built In Variable 12 dB/ Octave Crossover
    Bass Boost 0-12dB
MOSFET Power Supply 3 Way Protection
    Overload protection
    Overheat protection
    Variable low pass electronic crossover
    Variable subsonic filter.
    Built-in variable phase shift.
    Signal to noise ratio: 70db
    Input level: 0.2-5v
    Bass boost frequency: 30-80hz
    Low pass filter: 40-180hz
    Subsonic filter: 5-50hz
    Frequency response: 8-180hz
    Dimensions: 7" x 2.5" x 16"
    Remote Bass Control Included

Would this be any good and or better than the PDX 600.1?
That pdx seems like a good deal so far but I want to just make sure I can get the best I can get ya know?

Re: What amp for Dual Alpine Type S? Please help

Buy one Boston Acoustics GT-2200 (price online under $200), and bridge it. These Class A/B amps give you about 700watts RMS power at 4ohm when bridged. BA are very nice amplifiers that are clean enough to drive reference quality speakers, so they're even kind of overkill for subwoofer, but the price is competitive.
