Wiring an amp 2 vs 4 channel?
OK so I am currently using the following equiptment.
MB Quart ONX4.80 front amp this does 80x4@4
Re Audio 6.5C Front door components 75rms
Kicker DS65.2 rear door components 60 rms
SO my question is this. I currently have them wired to the MB just fine and everything is all great. I have the gains on the rear down a little as the kickers do not handle the same as the RE's even though it is only a small difference.
If I was to get the AQ200.2 it would do 220X2@4 and 340x2@2
So if I took my components which show a 4 ohm load at the amp from the crossover and wire the front right and rear right door together in parallel would it show a 2 ohm load at the amp?
I am figuring that is how I would do it as the right side would be one channel and the left side would be the other, I would just lose my front to rear fading.
Here is the other question. Would it be a problem wiring them together like that, as they are different brands and models of speakers. Like I am not sure if it would just send both sets the same power or if things would get screwy as normally when I see stuff wired in parallel they are the same unit LOL.
If I changed both sets of components would there be a gain using the AQ 2 channel or am I good just sticking with what I have and wait until I go for something like a 125.4 or 175.4 unit?
Thanks!

Re: Wiring an amp 2 vs 4 channel?
If everything works, why bother changing things? Having no fading will certainly be worse as the speaker balance will not entirely depend on the relative sensitivities. E.g. if the rear speakers have higher sensitivity, then they'll play louder.

^^^This. If you were bridging the front pair together and the rear pair together, it'd be a different story. Bridging right and left together not so much.

Yeah I will stick with 4 channel amps. Was a stupid idea after I thought about it last night.

you can do the 2 channel on the front components and the rear doors off the hu ,this would be a better option
