    DrewImpala's

    Default
    Quick testing specs.

Only tested at 4 ohm and 1 ohm. Didn't do box rise.

Electrical: Stock battery, 4 gauge OFC wire(15feet) 200 amp fuse.
Subs: 2 DB Drive Platinum PT12D4

4 ohm with voltage drop to 13.6
    920 watts rms

1 ohm with voltage drop to 13.3
    1290 watts rms

Nearly identical numbers to the AP1500, but seeing how they are the same board from the same build house I wasn't surprised at all.

I was planning on doing more testing but after seeing my first sets of results I decided to stop as this amp is indeed a relabeled AP1500. Sorry Audiopipe, but someone stole your amp and is selling it for way less.
not bad numbers considering how cheap the amps are

The monoblock in that series is actually a sleeper of a good amp, carries three 25a fuses and makes the power. Most will let their brand prejudice stand in the way of a good deal, though.

No. In the end, the answer is, always has been, and can only be... heat kills speakers. BUT, clipping increases heat generation, sometimes by a drastic amount. So to start a thread simply to state that clipping does not hurt speakers is, again, a half-truth at best.

That one I believe is actually based on an mtx design. Sleeper for sure.

    Re: VVME audiopipe clones cheap!

One thing you missed from that picture was as bad as all those amps were, they all sound better than the amp I was sent. Now it may be a defective piece, I'm waiting on a reply from the seller to see what they want to do as far as sending a replacement.
I asked them to test it when they get it and if it is in fact not defective then I am not interested in a replacement, if they conclude it is defective then I feel I should not have to pay for the return shipping.
One last thing all those amps in that pic besides the Orion which I bought new in '93 and the Bazooka (replaced a Rockford amp that was powering tweeters when it died the second time) cost me less than $20 each. The VR amps were $15 new and all they needed was a new shroud and fan upgrade to stay working in AZ heat. I had them sitting on a shelf for years without ever installing them. Bought them just because of the price. Used them in a pinch to power 2 12's when my HCCA250 died after 20 years, I was shocked when I heard them. If you haven't tried them then you can't knock'em.
that Sony amp is the 760watt model paid $28 after shipping, needed a mosfet, will not stay on for very long at 2 Ohms Bridged. But that silver 4 channel American Pro VS-1406 ($8) puts out some sound 300wx2@4Ohms if you have an active x-over to control it - like all 4 channel amps.
This is the amp I got and the Modified VR3 amp that blows it away!

That's my spare bedroom, now it's my electronics storage room, my Mom isn't here to pick up after me anymore! If I showed you the rest of that room you wouldn't believe your eyes, stacks of bins full of electronics and an entire wall 3 rows deep of home speakers + a closet full and a few stragglers about the place and in the garage. These aren't all of the amps on hand these are the few that I've tested out in the last month, minus the Orion, missing from that pic of recent tested:A Kicker that I'm waiting for parts, Realistic that was on the bench but now working and an Alpine that's currently in the car, all but the Kicker produced more usable bass than the eBay amp.

True. Not only cheap Chinese junk but bad customer service. Let the buyer beware.

Is that the "1200w" one? (2 40a fuses) I never thought an old Xplod amp would look that good inside.

Edit: After further research it's the "1000 watt" xm-6001gxd.

Good luck with their customer service bro. I highly doubt they have any means of testing anything in house. I bought a sub from them that died within 5 minutes. They asked me to send them a video of the sub not working LOL. I refused. After about two weeks of emails back and forth with replies from them written in terrible english(engrish maybe) they finally replaced the sub. The second sub performed quite well but their quality is so hit and miss its probably not worth the hassle to deal with them . I imagine their operation consist of a warehouse where they store the cheap china made products until they are sold.
