    Have him send you pictures of the amp with the cover removed. Pay attention to all the capacitors and look for swelling or blown caps. If it looks legit, make the drive.

    This is prob the most reliable amp in that price/power range. RF makes well built amps that do rated or exceed rated power ratings.
