Somethin to power 2 Si Bm MkIII's, and Image Dynamics CTX-6.5cs Components

I have my eye on the Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D for the subs, and the SAX-125.2 for the comps. Both can be had for ~$520 at woofersetc.com

Anyone know of some better amps for the money? Originally I wanted the Alpine PDX-1.1000 and PDX 4.100 but i've realized that's a little bit over budget.

It's been quite awhile since i've been in the car audio game but i have a new truck and I want a new system. Looking for something SQ oriented, in contrast to the setup in my sig. (At least I still think it's in my sig, lol, haven't checked yet.

first off your system in your sig isn't an sq set up ,neither is sundown for all that matters .if you want sq then look at mmats,audison,zapco and a few others. if you want great rated power,look into american bass amps. i have the new ab vfl hybrids ,ii can give you the 4480 2200 rms and the 150x 4 4 channel for 510 shipped for both.

my bad, i meant to say something along the lines of "in contrast to". I've had obnoxiously loud, now I just want something easy on the ears.

i was in the same boat a while back . after driving a 153 db truck for many years i wanted thid build to be loud ,but pleasant on the ears. i went with the 2 american bass vfl hybrids ,for 2 reasons, small compact size and lots of power .also went with 4 dd 1508 subs under my rear seats [didn't want to loose the seats].then i did cdt es 010 tweets in the frt doors and cdt es 62is mids in the doors with cdt es200u xovers .this new system sounds fantastic ,alot cleaner than my previous set up .i think you'd be happy with the amps .especially in a truck where space is limited .

Which amp is more efficient? The alpine pdx series or the american bass vfl series? I've only got a 136amp alt, do ya'll think i'll need to upgrade?

you can buy one of my amp for the subs, more power than you'd need, but good for headroom lol

the ab amps are over 90 % efficient

I think i'm going to stick with the alpine amps. The 2.250 draws fewer amps and can be had for less than the 4.100.
