Running an amp at .25 strapped

OK guys. WIrth the subs i am about to get, i ghave 2 options.

    1. I can still strap my amps and run them at .25 each for a .5 overall load. (amps are popcorn sounds 2500.1s)
    2. I can run 1 amp per sub and wire each amp to 1 ohm (subs are new zv3 15")

I have access to all the c and d /powerware batteris i can stand, and have a 350a Tenney alt being built as we speak. SO basically, i will not settle for bad electrical on this.

SO with excellent electrical will i be ok runnig the amps at .25 each?? Or do i sacafice some wattage and run them at 1 ohm ?? I know they arent the most expensive amps in teh wqorld, but they do have optidrive boards in them. Are teh componets the same?? more than likely not, and i havent seen any posts whrere the 2 are side by side.

So will they smoke? Or will they play just fine at .25 each??

    Please advise

Just run them at 1 ohm. You're gonna regret running them at .25 or even .5

Doubtful they are strong enough to daily .25, even my d9's would protect on long burps. Frequency will determine your final load, if you're trying to just burp them it may do it but I wouldn't try to go below tuning.

Just out of curiously, when you burp below the tuned frequency, does it **** more power? Is that why you say that?

You guys have been running at lower ohms than me, so im glad all of you chimed in. I will prolly just go with 1 ohm and do 1sub per amp. Dang i kind wish these were d1 subs. But oh well, theres always 2014s build!!! amybe by then i can afford to run some better equipment. Doesdanyone have any experiebce with teh popvorns atr low ohms??

Does anyone have experience with Lanzar optidrive amps at low ohm loads?? like .25 low??

I know itas not the same componets and stuff, but we do know its the same board for a fact. WHat do yall think?

You realize ".25 strapped" means .175 ohm per amp, right? Learn your terminology before even attempting to stap.

Re: Running an amp at .25 strapped

..and no. That's dumb. You should never WANT to run .25 per amp daily. Sounds like you've just not planned ahead and are having to make bad calls due your equipment not being matched up correctly.

Re: Running an amp at .25 strapped

Each of those amps at one ohm on a zv3, each will be loud as heck, anyways. You will need help matching the gains on your amps if they're not strapped, and the subs are sharing an enclosure. Cancellation can be a huge problem in that scenario.
