4 gauge power wire into 1/0 gauge distro block?

I happen to have a spare power distribution block that is 0 gauge in and out to two 4 gauges.

The wires I need to put go like this: battery --> 4g --> distro block --> 4g and 8g.

Can I put the 4g wire into the 0g opening, and the 8g into the 4g opening?

cool thanks! Saves me about $40 haha. What about fuses? Can I just use the in-line fuses after the block, instead of buying fuses to put into the block?

You wil need the fuses in the distro for the current to go through the block to the out going wire

oh shoot... haha. Didn't think about that. So if I have a 500w amp and a 150x2w amp, which equals 800w do I just divide 800w/12volts and end up with 66.66 amps? Does that mean I should get a 70 amp fuse?

Only one fuse in it? You fuse according to wire size and what the wire its made of( copper or copper-clad aluminum).

There are places for two fuses. Here is a link to it. The wire is copper only.

Also, where does the block normally get placed in the vehicle? And do I need to have an in-line fuse between the battery and block?

First of all, yes about the fuse after the battery. As close to the battery (within 18”) as you can for that one. Use a 150 amp fuse for that one. Place a 150 amp fuse on the distro block for the four gauge,.and an eighty amp for the eight.
