Mmats d300hc or hifonics Brutus?

Kind of at a loss I am an old school guy. The old punch amps, mmats, vlx400s, but that was when I had stupid money laying around and no car payment and could dump 1k into an amp lol. So now here we are, budget amps...


Need a 2ohm amp with some gitty up. Saw the Brutus, of course my old school favorite d300hc and just getting some other ideas. Will be running 2 Memphis m5 15s in a Vw Touareg.

Any amp suggestions at a fair price?

Also, coureous for those of you that may have the Memphis m5 15s only... What kind of box amp combo are you using in detail? Limited on space in the Touareg sorting to figure that out.

Are you suggestion a new Brutus to an old school Mmats? haha, that's not even a contest. Or the 10 year old Hifonics stuff that was actually decent? Regardless, you can't go wrong with Mmats. Old School Hifonics would be good too though I suppose. How much power are you looking to run, and what budget are you working with?

No comparison, MMATS all day, HiFonics ***** since the Maxxsonics buyout!

hifonics isnt that bad for entry level.. ive seen many collosus and hercules amps in the lanes and they make power.. theyre not highly underated or top quality, but will make cheap power. id run a brz before an ED 9..

for 2 ohm configurations, a kicker KX 1500.1 would be great for them, perhaps a fosgate t1000bd area.
many online companies make power at 1 ohm or lower, so finding power at 2 ohm is a little dificult.
MMATS makes 2 ohm configurations, and are super efficient, i would run the HC.

D300HC anyday over China Crap

That's kind of what I figured :)

I guess the old m,ate d300 it is... Now to find one in good condition and not all beat up.

My only other option would be the kicker 2500... The newer model... I know, I know.. It's kicker but I have seen some impressive clamped legit numbers off of that amp... And stays relatively cool... Grrr flips a coin

Try to find a D300HC with the external cap mounted to the side those were beast....Ive sold all my old school MMATS stuff but Ive ran a lot of their stuff in the past and its all top notch
