JBL AMP and PANASONIC HU

i have a panasonic 602u with 2.5v outputs
going into a jbl bp600.1

can anyone tell me around where to set the gain for this setup?
i dont have subs hooked upto them right now, and i havent adjusted the gain at all...is this hurting my amp?

having your gain too high will only hurt your subs

you'll have to play with the gains to determine the right setting.

well im not worried then...subs arent connected yet...
and even with them connected...im still not worried
alpine type r's have max of 1000 watts
but im only going to run them at the rms 300 watts

and when i have the volume upto 3/4 to set the gain on the subs when i install them...will it be harmful to the subs while i adjust the gain and mess around wit it before breakin them in? should i adjust them after or before i break the subs in?
