Icon32 Quick and easy question on rated power..

Say an amplifier puts out 1000W RMS and it is tested to put out 1100W, or maybe 900W..

Is the tested power output un-clipped? Or is it simply watts, whether they are clipped or not??

    thanks!

i agree with that. but ussually even brand names are tested at 14volts to make the numbers look acceptable amonds the claim of cheap brands.

on cheaper models, the rating might be taken from one channel and read just before the amp explodes killing the technician and developer, leaving the marketing guy to publish the "tested" reading and make mega bucks of the ignorant.

what's wrong with them being tested at 14 volts? most cars while turned on run 14-14.4
