My buddy just got 2 12" infinity perfect 12.1dvc and wants to know what is the best amp to push them for loudness and sq at the same time? He has a budget of 350 dollars.

I'd get something that does ~ 600 x 1 @ 1ohm.
Browse through the amplifier section or sites like www.thezeb.com, www.onlinecarstereo.com, www.sounddomain.com/shop, etc and see what you like and what is in your price range.
Come back with a list and we'll tell you if they're crap or not![]()

Also he doesnt want the amp to shut off after 15 mins of use , he wants to be able to run good power for a good hour or 2 before it goes in to protection mode. Will the amp above be able to do that? If not what amp will be able to do that or better?
I wouldn't send a Perfect more than it's rated 350 RMS (unless you know what you're doing). That number is pretty much right on ...

You think that is the best way to go? Any other opinions, can the subs handle more power than that?
How about the jbl PX600.2 will this amp satisfy his needs is it a good quality amp. What are everyones thoughts?

There's quite a few people on here who have blown them.
Orion 600D comes to mind. Directed 600D as well. Soundstream EGA2300 does 600 x 1 @ 4ohm, which is also another wiring configuration for your DVC 4 ohm subs (1 or 4ohm). Soundstream VGA600.2 also. Etc.

what about a Soundstream Rubicon 500/1??
i think it sends 400x1 rms....
?bad idea??

The RUB500-1 does 400 x 1 @ 2ohm ... so it wouldn't work with a pair of DVC 4ohm drivers ... since they can only be wired to 1ohm or 4ohm.Originally Posted by vqman
The 200x1 @ 4ohm it does would work ... but I'd go for something else to give them a touch more power.
