    Icon32 quick question about 801s

Quick question about my amp. I have the Rockford 801s amp that says that it does 400 W X 2 @ 2 Ohms RMS and 800 W X 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS. I just bought a pair of 12" Kicker Comp Vr's with dual 2 ohm voice coils. I also have a Rockford 1.0 Farad Cap. I was wondering why my amp doesn't say the output of 2 ohms bridged, and if it would hurt anything if I wired them that way.

I planned on wiring them by Option #2, any suggestions??

^ Don't wire them like that. Your amp cannot handle a 2ohm load bridged.

2 channel amps are not usu stable at 2 ohms when bridged
u should have got DVC 4 ohms at least. but w ur setup, only thing u cna do is to wire each sub in series for 4 ohms each sub, n then run one in one channel n the other in the other one.

    Re: quick question about 801s

what about hooking the 801 up to 3 12 jl w6's, would the amp be able to handle the 1 ohm load?

No! Nothing under 4 ohm bridged and 2 ohms with 2 channels driven.

    Re: quick question about 801s

How would I wire each sub in series for 4 ohms each sub if the subs have dual 2 ohm voice coils, or does my question even make any sense? Does that mean that I should just wire the subs with option #2 on the link, but just not bridge them?

    Re: quick question about 801s

Wire the coils in series to raise them to 4 ohms, then run each channel at 4 ohms.

Or sell the subs and buy the proper ones. Next time, check into this before buying equipment.
