    Amp for a 21" Warden/Death Penalty

I currently have the box finished

Just need to get the AMP/Subwoofer now.

I was thinking about running the Soundstream DTR since I barely have enough room for a regular mounting amp.(Since the DTR is "Standing up"). Has anyone used this amp? Sound quality/low bass hits Right? I'm doing this more for SQ (SPL is nice too but more for SQ).

Let me know please. The subwoofer can be made to Dual 4, Dual 2, or Dual 1 Ohm(s)

the dtr series will do rated power. but its at .5 ohms and 14.4v
no personal experience with them but have heard great things. id run a single dtr3400 to a DP or a pair strapped for a warden

also why would you build a box before getting the sub? every sub likes a different size box and different tuning

Someone once told me that the DP is SQ. And the Warden is more for SPL.

I wanted to build the box first because Incriminator Audio told me that the Warden/Death Penalty share the same "Attributes". As in building a box for "it"

So now I can either get a DP, or Warden. Box is still Great for Either one

no 21 inch sub is going to have the quick responsive bass needed for a sq setup

ive heard no advantages a dp has over the warden, except for price. if your gonna go with the warden make sure your ready to shell out the dough needed for amps and electrical

    Re: Amp for a 21" Warden/Death Penalty

I guess "it's" the DP for me... . I don't want to kill my car since the Alternator is only 150A.

EDIT: My favorite amp is the Clarion DPX11551 which is 1550 rated RMS power. I sold "it" because I had to make my carpayment a while ago since I haven't been working (laid off).

EDIT2: I'm just hoping that the DTR will be sounding "alike". I bought a Kenwood XR-1S because Everyone was saying "it" is digital. But I hated the sound of "it". I'll just push my "luck" and try out the DTR. So the 3400 or 2200 for the DP? Because the DP is only rated 1500RMS.

    Re: Amp for a 21" Warden/Death Penalty

yea dont plan on being able to run the power a warden likes without some serious electrical upgrades like a H/O alty and a batt bank in the back

I hope you braced the hell out of that box, never had a problem with a box flexing itself apart until my DPs.

"It" should be Great. I'm getting a SVR 4000P/3000P

SVR Batteries - SVR Platinum Batteries

The box is made with 1.75 Inch Wood. I know "it's" at least 1.50 for the Front where the subwoofer screws on

    Re: Amp for a 21" Warden/Death Penalty

I was originally going to get two Clarion XH7110 Amps for the ONE Death Penalty21"... .

Amazon.com is selling the 3400 DTR for about $499.99

    Amazon.com: DTR1.3400D - Soundstream Monoblock 3400 Watt D-Tower Power Amplifier: Electronics

But the 2200 is way cheaper. This should work just as well? for Daily Use

    http://www.amazon.com/Soundstream-DT...8507084&sr=8-2
