    ppi AM series

i was wondering what anyone knows about the ppi AM series of amps...

im looking at buying a ppi 4200AM which is a 4-channel amp that i want to bridge to two channels (200x2), but someone told me that it may not be bridgable, even though it has specs that give bridged power output...

the amp is white in color, and other AM series amps i have seen are black, so im thinking this may actually be a "pro mos" series of amps...

any information at all would be appreciated...

    Re: ppi AM series

They made the 4200AM in black and in white. I had a 4200AM for about a day before it was stolen. If you have seen written specs from PPI about bridging then assume it to be true.

the 4200am is a very strong amp that's rated at 50wrms x 4 and 200wrms x 2, and it came in white or black. mind you this amp does not have any internal crossovers i believe so you will need your own electronic or passive setup..

    Re: ppi AM series

OK, I have a ProMos50 and I was wondering if it's safe to run it at 2ohms, and if I do will it deliver about 400 watts to a woofer?

    Thanks,
    T S

That amp was designed to run all day at 1 ohm stereo or 2 ohms bridged. I have heard of/seen them run lower than that but with that awesome amp, I personally wouldn't risk it. PPI now isn't the PPI that built that amp and they will not service older models so getting it fixed will be difficult if you damage it.
