    Re: audiobahn, phoenix gold

personally and i think many would agree with me, go with the octanes.. newer to be specific, older is good too... but unlike rockford, phoenix gold keeps getting better everyday

Price does NOT matter.. if your system is clean, loud, and could make me puke.. you got my props

Personally i would take the 2300 over just about anything else... there are a few amps that i would buy other than the 2300 very few. But im an audiobahn junkie, so what else would you expect to hear from me.

Phoenix Gold makes some great amps, and the older ones are tough to beat. I'm not sure about the Octane R series, though.

I think neonak said that the octane series are no way close to any of the oher PG series..... he has experience with them....

Octanes are not that great of an amp if you expect to get what they claim....I've had experience with the 9:0, claims to do 125 x 4 and 400 x 1, but actually puts out around 50 x 4 and 200 x 1. Now the Titanium and Tantrum models, that's a different story. Those are some great amps.

    Re: audiobahn, phoenix gold

LIke i said before it's a really good amp... puts out what it's supposed to provided you can get it the current it needs to produde that amount of power on a constant basis. Iv'e install two of the 2300's but not the 2200's The two used nearly the same circuit board so i wouldn't expect any less out of the 2200's than i would with the 2300's. Just make sure you can get it the power it needs.

    I'll disagree.

Actual power output is contingent upon impedence. Very easy to excede or fall short of rated wattage if it is anything but what the spec sheet says.

My Octane R4.0:2 has been one durable little beast that has been known to defy it's spec sheet on a regular basis.

Very clean circuitry and also quite versatile.

Excellent amps true to PG Quality.

I will agree completely with the Titanium and Tantrum observation you have made. I will also raise you a the XS Lineup and something of old called Sapphire!

PG makes some very fine amps!!

    take it easy,

the only pg amp i used was the qx500.1 sweet amp and was it underrated. took 1.5 ohms daily without getting hot. They replaced that amp with the octane 8.0? i think.
