amp gain is 1/3 of the way up but sends clipped noise to speaker.

My system is 1200d orion amp and 13 w7. I have the gain only 1/3 of the way up but the amp sends a clipped noise to the speaker and shuts off. Does that mean the gain is turned up to much? or the amp is not getting enough power from the battery?

yea well whats the input voltage on the h/u? match that with the amp. don't run the bass boost or anything. that just causes more distortion.

The head uniit is an alpine connected to a sony equalizer. The speaker is wired to .75 ohms and the amp is 1200 @1 ohm stable.
Gain is only 1/3 of the way up. Nothing near the max at all. The amp clippes the speaker then shuts off for 2 seconds then turns on again. Is this a power shortage?

My guess is it's shutting off because of the .75 ohm load....

    same here.

Wire it to a different ohm load. Turn the bass boost all the way down and set ur crossover properly.

wait wait wait, 8 ga wire and you are trying to run that amp at .75, you need to get first upgrade that wire and then see what happens, you are sufficating the amp to begin with and it doesn;t help that you have it at .75. Due to imp raise, you may be okay with that amp at that ohm load, but please upgrade to 4ga asap

I guess i made a big mistake cause i put the Amp on sale and thought the amp an dspeaker isnt a good combo. Well theres 1 hour left on the bidding. Its at 330$ which is 150 cheaper then what i got it for. I'm just a little dissapointed. but is there another amp just as compareable to the one i have?

    link to the bidding is.
