    My Test On The Bxi2608

    lots of rumors saying this amp is overrated, yet no proof, no test, no pictures. I recently installed two bxi2608s on a pair of L7s and came to the conclusion that these amps do rated power at 14.4v. if you feel otherwise, please post your results so we can compare. Nonetheless, gain was set my DMM, while bass on headunit at -7. Amplifiers were set at 50.9v according to the gain tutorial.... and here are my results:

    VAC= 66.1
    CAC=16.89
    66.1 x 16.89 = 1116.429 rms
    66.1/16.89 =3.9ohms (Reactive Impedence)
    Voltage dropped to low 13s
    amplifier did 1116.4 @ 3.9ohms, yet its rated at 850 @4ohms

    further results.....
    1455.1 @ 2.77 ohms
    985.6 @ 5.4ohms
    1803.1 @ 2.3 ohms
    [email protected] ohms

    Pictures- wires are messy, but its temporarily until i figure out where i want everything. More results with lower ohm loads soon to come after i get my DMM back

    IMO an amp test isn't complete without an oscilloscope.

    Finally someone posts proof to back up their claims about hifonics amps

    I don't know why nobody seems to understand that unless you can account for power factor your test is basically meaningless....

    Bottom line is this is the best way we have, there is no other economical way to test. Until someone makes it possible to get a constant load for teh cheap this will have to do.

    Re: My Test On The Bxi2608

    also ive did testing with my fluke/craftsman dmm/clamp meters and putting the meter on peak hold, as long as nothing freaky goes on , like a wierd spike at the beginning or end of a burp. And you don't do anything stupid like roll the volume up really quick and then stop. the results are very close. Peak hold works fine, as long as you know what your doing.
