    Phoenix Gold 4 Channel

Has anyone used either of these two, the zx475ti or the regular zx475? Their both rated at 4x75 @ 4 ohms and 4x150 @ 2 ohms. I've been looking for a decent 4 channel and their is a few of these around on ebay for decent prices. Just wondering on the opinions on these and if they are worth while. Couldn't find much about them on here. Thanks

Your memory should also tell you that they were made and sold during the height of IASCA and its power class setup. Competitors were grouped acording to the rated power of their system into 4 ohms with a 12v supply. PG rated the amps VERY conservatively per the IASCA standard and then provided the "14.4v rating" to give you a better idea of what the amp would actually do. They usually comfortably exceeded the 14.4 rating even with a 12v supply.

    Re: Phoenix Gold 4 Channel

Thanks for the advice Ill def be getting one in the near future. Also is there any of the older 4 channels with similar power worth looking into. Im not looking to spend alot for a really high end amp but I dont want an el cheepo either. Just something that will sound good and put out a decent amount of power. Thanks

Orion XTR475, PPI A404. Adcom made a nice amp for awhile. Carver made some nice ones, too.
