Very low end gear. I would say equal to your Lanzar brands. Parent company is Maxxsonics which owns HiFonics now, and rep says they keep crunch because it is a big money maker for the company.

just a question MA... why do you insist on mentioning in EVERY post that maxxsonics owns hifonics? Hifonics is a very capadle brand, regardless of what it's parent company owns...
the Crunch stuff is low end, not very good at all... Lanzar is a fairb it better than them...
**** calm down. yes they do own HiFonics so what? Not many know that. And if say Pyramid bought JL today and JL started making new lines of products wouldnt you question the quality too????

me calm down? i think it is you who is reacting poorly to a mere question... Many large companies own smaller companies... some making high end products, some middle of the road and some bottom end... it is not uncommon for these to all be produced under different names, from under the same corporate umbrella. Ever hear of a company called Recoton? Owned Stinger... also owned Roadgear and Jensen... does that make Stinger a poor product? no. Hifonics used to be one of the front runners of the industry and is now a good solid budget amplifier, which I would recommend to anyone... have YOU owned any of their products from teh last little while? I have, and I was more than impressed. Lanzar makes some poor products, but also makes some very capable amplifiers. Their Optidrive series is again, tough to beat for a budget amp...
Crunch is crap... Lanzar is not... at least not all of their products.
yes but you were missing my point. I own a Gen XI if you would care to see it let me know. I love it. I love HiFonics, I personally am not happy with their newer lines. But the new Gen XX looks to be solid once again. Yes, most companies have lower lines, but the point is when a solid company switches hands not many know about this. Look at RF for example, they used to be the best of the best, now with a new management and focus they are overpriced for the most part. Why is it such a big deal I note that. I am defending the old company is all. Yes I have seen, heard, and sold Lanzar. It is crap like all the others. You can get a JBL or at least something off of eBay for the same price and get a much better product. We benched several Lanzar amps and all were heavily overrated and ran terrible numbers. There is a reason they are on the same side of the shop with Bostwick, Pyramid, Power Acoutik, Legacy, and not on the side of the shop that sells JL, Kenwood, Crossfire, Eclipse, etc.

the Lanzar Optidrive series is a solid series... good power output, good reliability...
MY point was merely this - why do you mention that maxxsonics owns them at every opportunity? this did not start out as an attack, merely a question? Is this the only thing you know about their corporate structure? does it make you feel better about yourself to say things liek this? Pray tell, I would relaly like to know.

they still make excellent products, their amps are very solid, and some of their drivers are more than capable performers. They were first and foremost an amplifier company, and that is what they are today, in my mind at least. Overpriced? possibly... how about JL? Haven't changed hands... yet are still "overpriced". What you aren't taking into account, is people pay for it. People will only pay for it if they think it is worth it. To their target consumer group, they are providing something that others aren't.
To answer your question, no. This has turned into a tangent thread, just answer the fellow's question guys.Originally posted by FLEX4U18

nah, having a pretty good day actually...
just don't like being jumped on when I ask a serious question of someone.
Ok well whatever maybe i misunderstood your quote, but it came across as who do you think you are type of thing, and then does it make me feel better? What are we in 4th grade now? No, its a relatively new thing that happened and like I said not many people know about this. Like I said if JL was sold to Pyramid, then all of the sudden came out with totally different lines of amps, subs, etc, wouldnt you like to know as the consumer what was going on? I mean you could say JL is the best, but you're basing it off of an old company not a new company with the same name. Can you understand that yet?
