    Icon32 ED nine.1 or sundown saz1500

So i plan on getting a fi q 15 and building a 3.6-4.0 cu box and putting two aero ports in it. Lookin to spend around 300 but will spend 360 for a refurd sundown if its worth it. Any suggestions on other amps or your preference on one of these would be greatly appreciated.

If you're gonna get BP I'd say go with the sundown

Sundown for sure. The ED is a nice amp, but even though ED seems to have bounced back from their **** days, I'd still feel much better dealing with Jake from Sundown.

Re: ED nine.1 or sundown saz1500

i believe they are rated at ~12.5. i think when loyd tested his, he got ~1600w with a voltage drop to 12.8. with a proper electrical system, these will be pretty stout for your setup.

+1 for Sundown & I'm 99% sure they're rated at 12.8v. Jacob has a few good condition used 1500s for sale with warranty.

Re: ED nine.1 or sundown saz1500

The ED 9.1 (I have one here right now in front of me) is approx = Sundown SAE-1000D with a larger power supply.

Power supply in Sundown SAZ-1500D and power supply in ED 9.1 is approx =.

However, outputs (same output mosfets in both amps) in ED 9.1 = 10. Sundown SAZ-1500D = 16. Quite a big difference there... The SAZ-1500D will do more watts than the ED9.1. the ed simply has an overbuilt power supply, but lacks the output section to do much. The SAZ-1500D has both.

Re: ED nine.1 or sundown saz1500

I take that back about the ED 9.1 having an equal power supply to the Sundown SAZ-1500D. It's not true, it uses the same count and same mosfets on the power supply, but only has one little weak torroidial transformer, whereas the Sundown SAZ-1500D has 2 large transformers, capable of much more current handling (more like what the 8 mosfets are rated for) capacity. So the ED 9.1 has beefy mosfets on the power supply, but not the transformer to back up those mosfets. Hands down Sundown SAZ-1500D would be the choice between these two, it's obvious and I don't know why anyone would have compared a ED 9.1 to a SAZ-1500D in the first place, I am confused. 1200 watt amp compared to 1500 (@12V mind you) amp. The ED is probably rated at 1200 watts at 14.4 volts. The SAZ-1500D will do about 1800 at 14.4V if I recall correctly.
