    remote.

how do you reset a wire.

try unplugging every thing and leave it unplugged over night.

check your connections. If you have a DMM, check it with that

Turn the bass boost all the way down.
Buy a DMM from radioshack and check your voltage in your car.
Make sure you aren't clipping your amp.
Check your power and ground wire - especially the ground. My ground has come loose quite a few times.

To set gains with DMM, use this formula: SQRT(RMS x Impedance)=Output voltage.
    Example: 2,000rms x 1ohm = 2000. SQRT of 2000 = 44.7V

    Oh, and lose the cap.

if you dont know what clipping is, then you probably clipped and blown your amp. maybe even your sub.

Re: HiFonics going into Protect !

Clipping occurs when an amplifier is asked to deliver more current to a speaker than the amp is capable of doing. When an amplifier clips, it literally cuts off the tops and bottoms of the musical waveforms that it's trying to reproduce, thus the term. This introduces a huge amount of distortion into the output signal. Clipping can be heard as a crunching sound on musical peaks.
