    Icon6 Crunch Ground Pounder Amps

i was looking for a 4channel to power my mids and highs, the guy at the electronic store showed me the Crunch Ground Pounder 880 watts 4 channel amp. it has 30x2 amps fuse rating. he says it wodnot give 880 watts but about 600-650 watts. but he said its clean power and does play well. its black in colour. also he showed me the new silver ground pounder 600 watt 4 channel amp which he says plays well also. i need 90-100 watts x4 @ 4 ohms to power my mids, which are 2 6.5" beyma Pro6MI midbass speakers in the rear and a pair of Hollywod Sound Labs 6.5" components in the front doors. can anyone advise me on whether its a good buy?

I think Crunch makes decent sub amp, but not sure about their comp amps tho. I'd think u'd be better off saving up for something better. Just my $0.02

    Re: Crunch Ground Pounder Amps

well just for shits and giggles 12volts x 60 amps=720 watts. But lose alot of that to heat....

not exact numbers obviously but it'll get you an idea of what an amp can make. Efficiency is a big factor tho.

    Re: Crunch Ground Pounder Amps

Here are the specs on the GP models

    4-Channel Amplification

    GP4100
    400W 2 / 3 / 4-Channel A/B Class Amplifier
    100W x 4-Ch @ 4-Ohms or
    200W x 4-Ch @ 2-Ohms or
    400W x 2-Ch @ 4-Ohms Dynamic Music Watts

    GP4150
    600W2 / 3 / 4-Channel A/B Class Amplifier
    150W x 4-Ch @ 4-Ohms or
    300W x 4-Ch @ 2-Ohms or
    600W x 2-Ch @ 4-Ohms Dynamic Music Watts

If you have to go with Crunch amps get the GP4100

I don't have experience with Crunch amps but being owned by Maxxsonics it's better than something along the lines of Boss or Pyramid...

Maxxsonics owns MB Quart and Autotek as well which both have plenty of fans...

    Re: Crunch Ground Pounder Amps

Crunch makes pretty decent amps for the price you can get them for. If the price is right, take it.
