there is no BEST brand that makes anything. if there was.....wouldnt everybody at competitions be running the same stuff? If you want some of the best amps out there....prepare to drop a couple thousand.

I think once you get above prices in the reasonable range, the law of diminishing return takes effect in a hurry.Originally posted by Bumpin03

In other words, just because it's the most expensive doesn't mean it's the best.
exactly no brand is the best...it depends on what you like what you want and what you have to spend, but jbl makes a good amp for cheap, jl audio has a good amp kinda expensive, orion has great amps at alot of cash depending on the series, also arc audio...there are a couple to get you started on what you want.

for car audio, I daresay McIntosh MC400M or something is way up there... audison also has some amps at mind-boggling prices..., Zapco's 4KW, basically 2 C9.0's stacked... PG's old, old amp from way past, US$99,000....
Well, there you go, not the best, I wouldn't know, never heard it, never seen it in real life, but they ARE one of the most expensive for a single unit that I know of.

"I told her about my conversation three years ago with the political leader of Islamic Jihad in Gaza. "What's the difference between suicide, which the Koran condemns, and martyrdom?" I asked. "Suicide," he replied, "is done out of despair. But remember: most of our martyrs today were very successful in their earthly lives." In short, there was a future to live for--and they detonated it anyway."
for sub or system? i guess sub.
id go for a JBL great amp for the price.
for the system. US acoustics wears a KEVLAR its bullet proof.

THere used to be a line of orion amps, gold plated too...I guess all Orions are durable, especially the HCCA's...

Phoenix Gold, Arc Audio, Pioneer Premier are additional excellent quality amps. So, there is no "best" amp out there. If there was everyone else would be out of business.
Dus this have thow have a mug of ale for me and my mate? He has been pitched in battle for a fort night. And has a kings thirst for the frosty brew thuse thow have for thuse.
Best amp for the cost would have to be autotek or jbl. Lanzar would get you buy, but nothing like the power of jbl, but the lanzar is very cost effeicent. Again how much do you want to spend is a big factor. Depends on the use also. If you want spl or sq. Im sure a jbl will give you alot more spl over a infinity amp.

I personally would put my optidrives up against anything with similar power ratings. They are in every way a notch or 2 above jbl's, and probably right on par with autotek's best stuff. Again, that's just my personal perspective.Originally posted by Jeremy jl fan

There are a ton of "good" amps out there. I think the line of quality between "good" and ultra-expensive amps is a lot blurrier than the people who paid big $$ would like to admit.
n2audio, are you saying optidrive as in lanzar optidrive? I know lanzar is a good decent amp for the cost compaired to power. The vibe monoblock amp is well worth the money and would out do all lowend products such as profile and sony. The lanzar vibe just doesnt give the emmuph as the jbl I dont think.

You may be right, and I agree the 1200D is a nice little amp. Maybe unbeatable for $220, but Vibe is no Optidrive. Trust me. I've owned the 1200D and the Opti1000.1D. I even have side by side pictures of thier internals, along with my old Vibe 230 beside my 200.2. There is no comparison.Originally posted by Jeremy jl fan
