Do I need some fatter wire for my 3 amps I'm getting??

    I have two Tsunami DB-1100D (1100 watts @ 1ohm) amps coming in along with a DB-4440 (75x4).

I already have a 2 gauge wire going to the back from my previous setup, I know the power/fusing was low, so I bought an Optima Yellow top and a 300amp fuse for under the hood. Is that 2ga. wire gonna be big enough for 2.5kw?

Also, my distribution block has 60 amp fuses, do I need to get bigger fuses there? I don't think they go much higher in the glass type.

Find the biggest wire you can. I think 0 gauge would work, but I'm not sure.

hmmm... I found some 0/1 gauge stinger "expert" series for $7/ft, and HPM series for $5/ft... is that a good price? The expert stuff looks pretty nice, lots of shielding none of that clear coating.

Also, I think the 300amp fuse I bought may have been overkill, lol. 150-200 sounds more reasonable after some reading.

They make 80A agu fuses (the glass type). I don't think they get bigger than that. If the 60 amp fuses in your d-block are holding up then going bigger won't help anything and will only decrease your safety factor a little.

If I were you I'd set it up with the 2 ga. and make sure you fuse properly, maybe 150A to be safe. Now if you play a 50hz tone for 30 seconds you will probably have trouble, but I have a feeling if you listen to music things may be fine. If fuses are blowing you know you need to go to 1/0.

Ah, so if the amps are starved for power you'll have an indicator, didn't know fuses would blow, I just thought they wouldn't play as well as they should.

Wish I had a way to bench the amps output with each wire just out of curiousity,

it would be difficult to wire with such big wires, but kep in mid you can wire fuses in parallel to increase current flow
