    well I really like the sound and performance of the soundstream but in due to some of the recent ARC amps I have seen I would take ARC AUDIO first

    I would take Arc Audio first if price was no option, but they are expensive as fu*k. SoundStream has a much more reasonable price and they're still great amps

    if ARC is so great, then why do they offer wacky power ranges for their amps?

    its all about input volatges....
    if you can send them over 14 V, you will be a happy happy guy...
    they rate theirs properly, showing what you can get iwth different inputs...

    when an amplifier is presented with higher input volatages (more electricity..) it is able to produce more power...
    send something 12 V and it will produce less pwoer than if its provided with 14.4V, now, add more electricity for the amp to work with, you will get more power...
    to a limit..
    many amps can only handle slightly more htan 14V with out burning up..
    but ARC amps, send tehm more power, they will deliver more power...
