Hey guys. I've been looking on ebay and the D2's go for about 450-475, can one of these be modded to run at 1 ohm? If so, how much would that typically cost for the modification, and how much more power would it put out at 1 ohm vs the rated 2 ohm? Is this a good amp for an SPL setup?

remove the cover.. replace the 30 amp fuse on the outputs.. with a 40 amp... modification done.. Of course there are other things that can / are being done to them.. but all you need to do is swap the fuse..Originally posted by F150Matt

D2s **** royal *** running 2 ohm.. They have to be ran at 1 ohm.. or less for decent power
and lots of nasty things can happen with them running that low... I've seen more D2's blow up then any other amp. You take your chances.. and Earthquake is not known for customer service.. esp if you rape one of their amps by running it below reccomended load.. (unless you have a name in the competition lane.. then they are a little bit nicer)
