New to Car Audio - Lookin for right amp

this sub needs a subsonic filter to be good so i need that in an amp
i am lookin for a good amp to power it for about 200$. My friend suggested this amp...

best bang for the buck is a x600.1 xenon off ebay right now. a wayyyy better amp than those boss ones and they do a real 800+ rms.. right at 200$ shipped now they are selling super fast grab one while they are there.. original dealer cost on them was like 309 i believe!!

kicker makes good amps but why not get a real 800 watts for the same price?? the xenon amps are really very good... i have not seen one bench under 800+ watts yet. if you like the kicker it will work fine for that sub. it would be nice to have extra power incase you decide to upgrade later though..

does this xenon amp put out 600 rms x 2 ohms? and is it a mono amp?

put out 800+ at 4 , 2 , or 1 ohm doesnt matter. they use xe-load and put out full power at any impedance listed, forget the 600 watt rating. i have had 15+ of these come thorugh here and they have all been well over 800+ watts one of the ones i had was 897...another was 876 and so on.. yes its mono

dont be fooled by the mtx rating on that auction it is NOT a 1800 watt amp.. thats max power. rms is 600 watts. mtx are nice as well.

but do u suggest that mtx amp over the xenon?

Quick question on the xenons, are all of them under rated or is the 600.1 a sleeper built for competitions.

all are underated... but not by very much, the only one you will see these kind of numbers with is the x600.1 due to poor qc over in korea when they came back and went back down the lines they have been re-qc'ed and do much more power now... all the rest will be a little underated with the 1200 being the least underated out of all of the line
