    amp(s) to power 18" stroker???

    would a rockford 800a2 power a stroker (18" single voice coil) properly, not underpowering it no capicators just run directly to the battery to amp , amp to sub

    doesnt the 800a2 bench around 1028 wrms a svc stroker is 800 watt rms

    k, i was only kidding about the cap. you dont need it if you have a sufficent electrical system to handle the amp. as for the amplifier question, i would try posting it in the amplifier section in this forum. im going to assume this is an old school stroker, as i dont beleive they make a new one in 18". anyhow, 800rms seems a little low for a rating. but that amp may be able to push it decently. but im a noob so i may be wrong

    No not enough power. strokers are 1600 rms. The higher the power of the amp the more control the amp has over the sub. Its like you riding a bike up hill. If your in low gear you will strugle on have to stop to catch you breath or let you legs rest but in high gear you can make it. Same thing with a big amp and a amp that just has enough. the smaller amp will have to stut off and take a break.
