    alternator question

right now i'm going to buy an amp for two 12" type r's. It's a toss up between the JBL 600.1 and 1200.1. I would go for the 1200.1, but I am not sure my 70 amp alternator can handle it.

Buying a new alternator is out of the question, and I don't want to spend the money getting it rewound unless it was pretty cheap.

If anyone has any insight on wether or not there would be enough difference between a 1200.1 and a 600.1 with my puny alternator let me know. Thanks.

if you got a 1200.1 with a cap to help with the PEAK current draws you'd be fine. as long as you listen to music and not test tones
