What amp(s) to run with a pair of 12" Brahmas

I'm in the process of redoing my complete system and cant decide on what amp to run on a pair of Brahmas. How low can I wire up a pair of Brahmas to go? 1ohm in total? Right now I am considering the MTX 81000D, Orion XTR Pro 2400, US Amps USA 2000x or a pair of Ultimate Digitalis DD1-1300s. And feed back would be verty helpful.

wouldnt go the D2 way - its a very ver very dirty, horrible sounding, predominantly SPL amp - to get the best SQ out your Brhamsa, dont get the D2, even though it is unbeatable for the $$$ and the power it puts out.....

USAmps?? great, really v.good, but they are AB, so if go the 2000x way, a couple of extra batteries will be needed to get the most out......

i would look at an efficient class d amp - 8100d, bd1500.1,mojo, zapco (zapco would be my choice personally, its im getting). these will all give you in excess of 1700RMS, the zapco giving anything over 2500RMS depending on what your electrical is like

I've seen an Autotek 2400 watt amp for like 600 bucks. that probably be a good amp for those subs. I've never heard autotek before, so i don't know if it has any SQ.

Autotek has a few digital amps but most are highcurrent (class A/B) and if you found one for $600 then either somebody is fulla crap or its stolen.. They are expesive and very good.

You could try one of those new nifty Audiobahn Rack Amps. They pump great gobs of power.

How about the new DD amps? It'd be cool to have a DD amp. The're probably very expensive, though. Also, isn't Earthquake coming out with something new (D3 or D4)? It will probably sound better than the D2. I'm sure I will catch some $hit for saying this, but the loudest daily driver I've ever heard was four Concept Platinum series Subs (12") and two Concept CC-D2400 amps. Theoretically the CC-D2400 doesn't put out claimed power, but I promise you it is very loud. Memphis class D amps are good, too.

how much do you wanna spend and do u want 1 or 2 amps??? D2's are not that dirty, we do plenty of installs with D2's and customers love them so please don;t say that jtmoney, have you ever used a D2???

i disagree here...they are a/b, but when youre puttin out the power, they require the same amount of power (within a couple amperes) as a class d amp. as far as the 2000x...id skip the x and get the usa2000, cuz you cant get a 1 ohm load out of a pair of brahma's. i personally have 2 15 brahmas and im planning on running a usa2000...youll get about 3000 watts or so out of that amp at 2 ohm mono.

i cant stand this misconception that class d makes the same (or more) power with the same current draw. it is true at 1/3 volume, but you typically arent drawing much current at that point anyway, and at full volume, class a/b is the way to go.

Electrical system will not be a factor for the Zapco amp..

Fully regulated design, and will deliver full power (2100 watts resistive, 2400+ watts reactive) anywhere between 11.5v, and 14.5v........

its' also not a very efficient amp, coming in at a meager 63% at full power... which is the domain for most A/b amps at full power...
