Icon32 Is a subsonic filter a necessity for a sealed box?

Just a quick question, if I have 1 12" Alpine type R in a 1cf sealed box do I really need a subsonic filter on my amp? The reason I ask is because this limits the amps that I can purchase because I plan on using the built in crossover.

BTW: My 740mp came in from Ike-sound yesterday and it was perfect. My 12" R type is on it's way and I hope they ship my R type components soon.

    No, it's not.

Is this not a reasonable place to park?
