    JBL what is RMS

    i have been hanging out with a car club and they all have fast and the furious cars and my friend installed a 2002 solobaric 15 wired at 2 ohms and i have a brahma 12 wired at 1 ohm and i want to know what it is really putting out not the max

    if your talking about the jbl 1200.1 amp it is putting out around 1200 watts rms at 2 or 1ohms and it has a peak around 1384 watts

    I believe car sound reviewed the amp at one point and had it listed at like 1380 watts continuous at 14.4 volts, most vehicles I've seen put out about 13.8 or so when they are running. The review had it rated at slightly over 1200 watts at 12 volts, so I'd say at 13.8 u are probably getting about 1300 give or take a few watts. It's about is the same at 1 or 2 ohms but it puts out that power with a little less distortion at 2 ohms.
