Why is this amp cutting out??

Whats up guys? Well i got some loaner subs and amp till my blueprints come in from a freind. They are three Pioneer 8s with a crunch 600 watt amp. We put it in today and ive been driving around listening to it tonight. It plays awsome for like 10 min. then the amp shuts off. If i turn my head unit off and on it starts again then blows a fuse. Im using 25 amp fuses in it but i might go to 30s. The amp isnt getting that hot and is well ventelated. Any ideas? I just want this thing to hang in there for a few weeks till i start running those blueprints! Thanks guys!

upgrade to a bigger fuse, either 30 or 35 amp fuse and see what happens. If it stil is blowing the fuse make sure all the wiring is done correctly and that the positive wire isnt cut touching the frame anywhere along the way or something like that. If you know ur wires are good and its STILL blowing the 35 amp fuse go up to a40 or 45 but that amp really probably doesnt need that much.

ok ill try that but the last time it shutdown last night the fuses wernt blown...thats what really confused me. Any ideas on why that would be?

are the positive and negatives on the speakers outputs touching at any point, even inside the sub box maybe, also what kind of amp r we talking about

its a crunch amp, its not working at all now.....everythings connected right

u could have went into an ohm load that the amp cant handle

it worked fine in my buddies car and then worked fine in may car for a couple days and now it just wont do anything.

u could have still went into a impendence that the amp couldnt handle so it overheated eventualy and burned the inside of the amp hook another amp up and see

ok well i dont have another amp to hook up but i messed with it and now it hits like the first three bass hits of the song when i turn it on then shuts back off. its very very weird. i have no clue what is causing this.

That is pretty wierd. Heh throw it away and make your life easier

try hooking up just 1 sub to each chanel, also check your ground. somthing is makeing it go into protection mode. what do you have the amp mounted to? mabey its grounding out through the amps body on some metal. hope this helps

ok i can try that. its mounted on posts about 3 inches above the subs.

Yes I agree with Savage..check your grounding point and start with one sub and play it for awhile and move up from there.

well guys i took it in to my local speaker shop and we busted out the voltmeter...turns out that my ground had gone bad and i had to move it wich is very very strange. Anyway...it works great now! Thanks for all the suggestions.
