Let me think about it and count my money by the end of the week and I'll let you know. I'm wanting level 3s too sometime soon so it'd be nice to have it all the same.

My Malibu has a stock 105amp alternator with the big 2 (minus engine block ground) 2 runs of 1/0 CCA and stock interstate battery I was dropping to 10ish volts sometimes 9ish on full tilt but that's on rap like Big KRIT slowed, decaf etc. Rock and Pop don't phase it much.

I suggested my 3kwp since it's got some headroom if you decided to go a little bigger or wanted an extra 1,000+/- watts

Its a nice amp, just too much cash for me right now, I'm hoping to be impressed by 2k for a while, I've never heard a system about 800 watts rms, so I'm hoping to be impressed.

Also could you tell a difference with the "big 2"? Over big 3. I'm just not sure about the engine block wire, didn't want to mess with that.

It was just me not getting around to grounding the battery to the engine block
    Big 3 consists of:
    1. 1/0 wire from + of alternator to + of battery
    2. 1/0 wire from Engine block to - of battery
    3. 1/0 wire from chassis of car to - of battery

Did you have to get the radio adapter that the newer models require, to add an aftermarket unit?

Radio adapter as in the little thing that plugs into the antenna? yes, most cars need an antenna adapter to work with aftermarket headunits.

No, like for the newer Malibu's (as in mine, a 2007), to keep track of gas mpg, oil life, etc., there's this aftermarket part that has another little screen with buttons, that also has a single DIN shelf with it. It's pretty neat, but has a hefty price tag. Only applicable if you get a new radio though.

Nope, I think they did that after 2001
