yes sir you are correct its a great amp but not active capable. this is a mean amp for running most passive component sets on the market

yes in order to be considered active u need to be able to bandbass and be able to cross the tweeter properly . this can run any components that have their own crossover .the amp doe shave a high pass and lowpass crossover it just goes to 250 iirc
