Re: Davecubs14's spl thread
nice. let me know if you want to try some higher power testing. we will throw my saz3000d on it.
Re: Davecubs14's spl thread
 nice one bro. tuned in for more results. have you tried glovebox open? rearview mirror turned? passenger seat moved all the way up and tilted, straight and leaned back. those are just a couple for ya to try out

That would be a very nice thing to do. Because in street 2, the max you can have is 3000 watts.

Thanks man. I need to do rearview mirror and steering wheel. I messed with the seats a lot. I know the visors are a no no for meca. I think the same goes for the glovebox...

I'm also in the middle of doing a burp box for my massive dmx 15.
Re: Davecubs14's spl thread
Dave, I have lots of blazer tips. I have the same one. Remember, low power testing is fine for finding your approximate peak but not much else. At full power your frequencies will change and the effects your tweaks have will too. Go test at full power and you'll see what I mean.

I'd love to hear some tips form another blazer owner:)
But yes, at full volume, it peaked @40
I tested at volume 25 because a few clicks below that and it peaked @55
After gaining the first 1.2 on low power, I tested it at full power and it went up 1.1 db's. So it seemed to be working.

Are you sealed on the dash, cabin open in the kick, or cabin open at headrest?

All tests except one was cabin open @ headrest.

Thanks for your advice man. I'll try stuff out either way:)
Re: Davecubs14's spl thread
Is this a 4 door Blazer, or the 2 Door? Leather interior or cloth? I have the 4 Door model with the cloth interior and peaked at 51 Hz sealed at the glass and 53 Hz with the door open in the kick. We don't have MECA up here so I never tried it at the headrest, but I'd be surprised if the resonant freq changed that much from the glass to the headrest. Going from leather interior to cloth changes it a little too. Playing with the rearview mirror won't do much good either, when you play it at full volume the mirror tends to move, and eventually break off the glass....happened so many times now that I just pull it off during testing or burping.
Re: Davecubs14's spl thread
Ok. Swapped the exo and hdc3 yesterday. Same box. Same speaker wires.
Didn't do much testing. But the hdc3 was a whole db louder than the exo. On a full burp, my voltage was a lot lower than when I tested the exo too. I could set the volume at 32 with no clipping. But yesterday, the highest I could go without clipping was 30.
Tested @ volume 25. The exo never reached 139.x's While the hdc3 did with just the door open.
I tested mainly the same things and got the same results. Just a full db higher. One thing I did try was lowering the back seats and nothing happened when I let the driver back seat down(when the meter was in the driver seat). But lost on the opposite back seat. The hdc3 also peaked @ 42 hz, 95% of the time. The exo, 40hz.
In the end. The exo is much louder to the ear imo. But the hdc3 got lower and moved my windshield more
Something else to add - My hdc3 is not the newer one. It has been beatin on for 3 years now

2 door. I tested a little with the rearview mirror. Didn't really gain nor lost anything. I peak a few hz higher on the dash. And it's cloth on the inside. No leather:(
I also want to pick your brain sometime about the front stage of a blazer:)

For my front stage I have a pair of 4" separates in the kick and 6.5" midbass in the factory locations in the doors, all RF Fanatic Q series and powered by RF Power series amps. I used to have them running through a Rockford EPX2 processor, but the bass kept killing it so I pulled it out.
